What happened? UAE-based gamtech PlaysOut raised USD 7 million in a seed funding round bringing its valuation to USD 70 million. 

The funding round was led by OKX Ventures, KBW Ventures (founded by HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed of Saudi Arabia), and Kenetic Capital. In addition to participation from others such as Pacific Century Group, Gam3Girl Ventures, Oak Grove Ventures, Aptos, Ankaa, Kestrel0x1, Venture Souq, Yugana Labs, Sentor Investments, and Longling Capital

What will they do with the funding? With the new capital, PlaysOut aims to advance its platform, offering opportunities for collaboration with brands, developers and stakeholders. Additionally, it aims to expand its mini gaming ecosystem and penetrate high-growth markets across the US, MENA and Asia. It also aims to offer scalable solutions that maximize user engagement and revenue potential.

Who are they? PlaysOut is a multi game mini game platform aiming to integrate its library of games into apps worldwide. It aims to bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3 in order to enable developers to access new monetization models.  

Furthermore, it offers a framework for brands to integrate gaming into their ecosystems, providing new avenues for audience interactions and data-driven insights.
