Yela Raises $2.2 Million in Seed Funding From US & UK Investors

The celebrity content platform, Yela, has successfully raised $2.2 million in a Seed funding round. The round was led by US and UK-based investors including Silicon Valley’s Razmig Hoghavian General Partner at Graph Ventures, Justin Mateen, Tinder co-founder and General Partner at JAM Fund, and Sean Rad, General Partner at RAD Fund and also co-founder of Tinder.

Founded in 2021, the Saudi Tech startup is offering a platform allowing users to get personalized video messages from their favorite Arab celebrities set to launch in August. The startup is registered in the UK with a presence in UK, Egypt and UAE.

The tailored content platform Yela has secured over a hundred A-list celebrities who fans can connect with including Amr Diab, Haifa Wehbe, Youssra, Mohamed Henedy, and Ahmed AlSakka. With an early bird priority pass for the first 5,000 users already sold out, the platform launch is on the right path to make big ripples in the content world. Highlighting this prelaunch milestone founder Alex Eid signed off his statement “It’s incredible to see the support that Yela has already received from all sides, investors, celebrity creators, and fans.” 

An Egyptian platform, similar to Yela launched in 2020. Minly raised $3.6 million in a Seed round only last month.
