Startups raised almost $336 million across the MENA region in just these 10 funding rounds and most investments were in the tech sector and that varied between PropTech, HealthTech, FinTech, AgriTech and EdTech.
UAE-based startups dominated June’s funding rounds, with AgriTech startup Pure Harvest Smart Farms raising $180 million in a funding round. UAE’s PropTech startup Huspy raised $37 million in a Series A round. NymCard, another UAE-based startup that has presence across the MENA region, raised $22.5 million.
Cartlow, UAE-based logistics platform, was able to raise $18 million in a Series A round. UAE’s healthtech startup Vamstar raised $9.5m in a series A round. Wema Health, a digital health startup that recently launched in the UAE raised $3.5 million in a seed round.
HyperPay, Saudi’s FinTech and payments services provider, raised $36.7m in a funding round led by Mastercard, Amwal Capital Partners and AB Ventures.
Toters, Lebanon’s super app for food delivery, raised $15 million in a Series B round. GoMyCode, Tunisia’s EdTech startup, raised $8m in a series A round.
Tamatem Games, Jordanian mobile-game publisher, raised $5 million from Chinese investment firm MSA Novo as it expands to the Chinese gaming market.
